TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS:

If one side of the headphones doesn't work:
a) Wrong cable

Some Beats come with two different cables. You may be using the wrong cable. To fix this, simply switch out your cable for the other one that was packaged with the headphones.

b) Phone settings

Your cell phone may be the cause of the uneven distribution of sound. First connect your beats to your phone and then select the Bluetooth option. Go to preferences, output, and then even out the volume from either the left or right side to the middle.

I bought these to replace of a set of solo hd's after hearing them in the store. They are the best sounding beats with a coverage of the mids and highs much more so than the solo and the Studio set which I also own. The bass is great on the Mixr's but not overpowering like the solo or the studios which are mega bass when you compare directly. I always start with the mixrs and they are the one I take with me to listen casually when I travel. When I am at home and am listening to music or gaming I use the solo's because of the comfort. The Studio's just collect dust now. The Pro's are in a different league and only really shine when amplified.

Pro's:
Best sound of the beats series. Good design of the ear tilting for ease of removing one side away from ear. Great for short term listening. My first set, mind you, that I always grab from the arsenal for short listening periods. The sound truly is a huge step up when listening. Example: I had the mixr's on listening to music on my laptop on the sofa at home and heard a song I wanted to share with the wife. There are two headphone ports on the PC she grabbed the solo's and put them on. She was rockin out and I said here listen to my new mixr's. SHe put them on and her eyes pooped out of her head in disbelief of the sound performance increase. Her comment was these ones are mine now.

Cons:
They are too tight. *see revision below. They start to hurt after longs periods of use. The comfort goes to the solo and studios.

Conclusion:
It seems to me that each set has it's own niche for different usage and all have substantially different sound. If you want the best sound the mixr's are it. If you have a skinny head you may not have as big a problem as I have. I am a 6' 200 pound man. I would say that the headphones are good for about an hour then I am motivated to grab the solo's for continued listening.

Revision about Comfort:
I have put these headphones on a large sofa arm to stretch the head band. To my surprise IT WORKS! IT WORKS WELL. It took a few days of using them then keeping them stretched really good overnight and after a few days they are quite comfortable and have stretched out and seem to be staying that way. Now five star headphones. They are all I use and all I would want in a headphone. now.

If your are seeking recreational use with these, please go to Solo or Studio. In regards to what they were designed for, the DJ, get these yesterday. These cans are the best I have had so far. I am a full time traveling DJ both club and mobile. I run through head phones like water, because i work a lot and I dont need prissy equipment. These things are built tough and light weight. Fold up nice and small, especially if you gotta travel by plane or train. Metal parts are a plus for the ruggedness. No loose swiveling parts. The leather is great comfortable quality. The sound is extra great, not overbearing as those battery powered ones since I have headphones on constantly while blasting music in the background. The noise cancelling is superb. I see a lot of complaints about these cans being too tight, but that is their design.
To fit tight and cuff the ear, keeping sound out as you can mix in your headset without having to turn up your headphone volume all the way up, damaging your eardrums. To a DJ, good working eardrums are essential. So to the professional DJ, what are you waiting for? Cop this cans man!!!

Okay so beats studios require batteries for them to work. In that case when they run out of batteries u cant use them. Also the batteries die very quickly. That is why i decided to get the mixrs the mixrs have all the cool bells and whistles such as swivel ear cup. I'm not saying to get the mixrs, because by the way they look the solos have all these different colors and decals. Don't go by looks though go by sound quality, durability, and features. And in that case the mixrs beat the solos. By the way you can contact monster and say you need replacement RED ear cups for your mixrs and all u have to do is email monster your adress. With red ear cups on the black mixrs you will look sick wherever you go. If you can't contact monster you can spray paint your ear cups red. If you choose to spray paint then don't worry about performance because spray painting the ear cups DO NOT EFFECT PERFORMANCE. The ear cups come off and have nothing to do with sound they are just cushions. Allthough they do make it noise cancelling but a coat of spray paint doesn't effect that. If you want style look at the website [...] they have all kind of colored beats. If you have money to burn go to [...] there you can customize beats, Iphones, Ipads, computers, Xbox's, Microphones, and the bose quiet comfort 15's if your all about performance. Well its all up to you but thats just my opinion!

first of all, best £175.99 i ever spent, these headphones are what its all about!

a lot of people talk down on beats and say you only pay for the brand and there are way better headphones out there and there probably is, but you wont find a better looking pair of headphones anywhere else!
they look awesome, they are a very sexy looking pair of beats

the sound quality is absolutely outstanding! i owned a pair of solo HDs and i thought they were amazing but now i dont know how i ever could of thought they sounded good compared to the mixrs, arrived saturday and as soon as i took them out of the box and put them on my head you just know you spent your money well

i was worried about them not sounding all to different from the solo HDs or not sounding all that great and spending 176 on them but i have absolutely no regrets, these are f*****g awesome! pricey but totally worth it!

dont let anyone talk bad on them saying its just the brand blah blah they either cant afford beats or just dont like them, but beleive me these are awesome! music is so clear and loud
